Help Catnap Survive a Two Week Closure!

It’s been a hard year. Running Catnap is financially difficult at the best of times, but a ringworm outbreak has now forced us to close for a few weeks and with our income already down this year due to the cost of living crisis, we just can’t cover the cost of being closed on our own.

FUN FACT: Ringworm isn’t actually a worm, it’s a generally harmless, but contagious and hardy, fungal infection.

We’ve avoided it for over seven years but unfortunately we had some new cats bring it in undetected and spread it to several other cats. We have lots of procedures to help avoid things like this, but there are always risks when working with animals.

As ringworm is contagious to humans, and several of our cats are in isolation, we’ve made the hard decision to close for at least two weeks to get on top of things. The affected cats are all on treatment and doing well!

On top of this, we’ve just been informed by our landlords that our rent is being increased substantially. We have some ideas for how to bring in some more revenue to help cover the increase but we can’t do much until the ringworm situation is resolved.

It’s hard for us to ask for financial help but the reality is that Catnap runs on super tight margins and we won’t make it through this without help.
