Help Coral get urgent respiratory specialist care for severe COPD/emphysema, including travel, tests, treatment and follow-up support.

Kia ora everyone.

This is not an easy post to write.

My wife Coral, my wife of 40 years, has severe COPD / stage 3 emphysema, along with a history of asthma, and her breathing has become much worse over recent months.

Even small everyday tasks can leave her badly short of breath, exhausted, and struggling.

Her GP has referred her for an appointment through the public health system, but my concern is that this may take too long. Coral is really struggling with her declining health, and I do not want to wait while her breathing condition continues to worsen.

Her GP has now referred her to a private respiratory specialist in Christchurch, and we are trying to get her seen as soon as possible so she can receive proper specialist advice, treatment planning, and support.

We have started a Givealittle page to help with the cost of the specialist appointment, travel, possible accommodation, tests, scans, medication, and follow-up care.

Specialist respiratory appointment, travel to Christchurch, possible accommodation, tests/scans, unfunded medication, follow-up care, and any ongoing respiratory support Coral may need.
