What was ment to be a family reunion ended up in a tragic loss
Blenheim, Marlborough
After four years of saving, Marcelline finally fulfilled her dream of visiting her daughter, Farisai, son Amos, and their family in New Zealand. Farisai, a dedicated nursing student in Blenheim and a loving mother, was so excited to share her new life and community with her mum.
Tragically, soon after arriving, Marcelline became unwell and passed away following a sudden medical event. What was meant to be a joyful reunion has turned into an unimaginable loss.
Farisai now faces not only deep grief but also significant medical and associated costs. As a student with a young family, this unexpected tragedy has placed an enormous financial burden on her. Donations made will go towards paying the significant medical bills which started in resus & HDU.
The family is planning repatriation back to Zimbabwe for mums burial as the rest of the family is awaiting for her arrival and Farisais Dad who came with mum will also be going back accompanied by Amos their son in law as its our Zimbabwean tradition and culture.
The estimated costs are around 16k for repatriation costs.
Any contribution—big or small—will help Farisai cover these urgent expenses and allow her to focus on healing and honouring her mother’s memory.
I am a friend of Farisai’s and also study alongside her.
This money will go towards the cost of medical bills incurred during time in resus and HDU as well as repatriation back to Zimbabwe
