Raising funds for Boston’s elbow surgery to slow down the effects of elbow dysplasia and onset arthritis.
Auckland
I rescued Boston a year ago from the Ngaruawahia pound. He was found tied up with no access to food, water or shelter. Since being adopted, Boston has had an amazing time attending daycare, weekly pack walks and really coming out of his shell. Sadly being a rottweiler mix, dogs like Boston often have negative attitudes surrounding them as being dangerous and aggressive animals. Boston is the total opposite - he is the smartest, most loving, gentle, submissive dog and melts the hearts of anyone who is lucky enough to meet him. Believe it or not, he actually has a sense of humour. He absolutely LOVES cuddles, swimming, running with his besties at school and being a total goof!
Unfortunately, I found out recently that Boston is developing elbow dysplasia and onset arthritis in his front elbows. Dogs get this condition when their joints do not form correctly and there has been mismatched growth between the two bones located between the elbow and the wrist. This means Boston can no longer attend daycare, pack walks, sprint around like a lunatic or run around chasing toys - and the worst part is, he's not even 2 years old. The only way to slow down the effects of this condition is for him to have surgery. By having this surgery done, Boston will be able to live a more active life, rather than be confined to a daily 10 minute leash walk. The surgery and rehab to follow will also aid with the pain he is currently experiencing. As the surgery is extremely specialised, it is very costly. Boston has been booked in for surgery mid June - so time is ticking for me to raise the funds needed!
Boston means the world to me and my family. Any donation towards helping me pay for his surgery would be greatly appreciated!
