Andre and his family need your help to fund his cancer treatment which is going to cost +- NZ$10 000 per month.
Canterbury
Andre van Rooyen was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer at the beginning of May 2019.
This diagnosis came as a huge shock to him and his family as well as all who know him well in the community.
Fortunately he has tested positive for the Ros 1 mutation which makes him eligible for a targeted cancer drug called Crizotinib. Crizotinib is the generic for the trade chmotherapy drug Xalkori. It is a pill, taken daily as prescribed.
Unfortunately this drug is not funded in New Zealand and Andre and his family will have to pay for the treatment. Andre's specialist Oncologist, is doing her best to source the drug for him at the lowest possible cost. The cheapest estimate of the medication is +- NZ $ 120 000 per annum.
Your donation will go exclusively towards funding this medication which will be audited by G J Accounting Ltd.
I am Andre's wife and want to help him raise funds for his cancer treatment.
The money raised will be used exclusively to pay for Crizotinib medication and will be audited by John Heffernan of G J Accounting Ltd.
Help Andre continue to have treatment 2 December 2019
Andre started on the unfunded drug Crizotinib for the treatment of stage 4 lung cancer. He is responding very well to the drug and needs to continue taking it. This is at an ongoing cost of $10 000 per month.
