My name is George Snook. Help me achieve my dream of winning Olympic Gold for NZ in 2024.
Nationwide
Hi,
My name is George Snook and I am an 18 year old whitewater kayaker and canoe slalom athlete straight out of Okere Falls, Rotorua and I am the current 'World White Water Grom of the Year' and Oceania U23 Champion.
My goals are clear:
- to become a double Olympic medalist at the Paris Olympic Games 2024
- to become a World Champion in whitewater kayaking and Canoe Slalom racing.
Every season, every month and every day counts in terms of achieving these goals, which is why this year I plan to travel to Europe in June to spend up to 4 months competing in multiple races hopefully including the world championships. This is a major stepping stone towards my goals as I will be able to train and race with the best in the world. I also plan to travel to remote locations to push my kayaking and adventure skills while creating content that inspires others to chase their own adventure.
I have my goals and I have the determination and passion to achieve them but I am missing the key resource, financial support. I need to raise $20,000 to support my up to trip and expenses.
Because I participate in a minority sport there is little funding available from Sport New Zealand for me at this stage, but I have my vision and with your help I intend to make it a reality.
Thanks for your support.
Funds will be used for travel, accomodation and living expenses whilst in Europe. Surplus funds will be used to support my summer whitewater training and competing in New Zealand.
