Help get Jessica to Prague

My name is Jessica Sutton and I’m currently in my 4th year at Victoria University of Wellington studying a BA (in French and Spanish) and an LLB.

I’d like to ask for your support for me to represent New Zealand by attending the International Youth Leadership Conference( IYLC) in Prague, an international youth leadership conference in Prague, Czechoslovakia from the 6th-11th January 2019.

I was nominated for this opportunity by Associate Professor Jean Anderson, who teaches French at Victoria, and was then selected in what is a very competitive application process.

I'm so thrilled to be selected but even more surprised that I have been given this opportunity by the University. Attendance at IYLC Prague would be a hugely beneficial experience for my studies and professional future, as it focuses on intercultural communication, specifically international law and simulations of processes such as International Criminal Court pre-trials which will be an amazing addition to my legal studies.

However, as flights and fees are unfunded, this opportunity can only be possible with the generous support of others like you.

A gift of $100, $80, $50 or any amount at all will make a real difference for me.

Your generosity would allow me to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and also will help showcase the importance of languages and cultures on the global stage. If supported to attend such a prestigious conference, I would bring back a wealth of knowledge to share with students here, to encourage them to pursue such opportunities in the future.

Following graduation, I want to use my languages and law degree to work in the field of International Law, and IYLC would aid me immeasurably in attaining this goal. IYLC would also be an opportunity for me to network with talented young leaders from all around the world while experiencing the rich culture and history of Prague.
