Help give this hero a proper goodbye

Rob died doing what he did best, looking after those he loved. On the night of 7th July 2018, Rob was killed when an armed intruder broke into his girlfriends house and opened fire while they were getting ready for bed. Rob heroically shielded his girlfriend from the bullets with his body and tragically died at the scene. He was only 23. Rob was a kind soul, a beloved son, brother and friend. He was extremely well liked, happy guy and his sudden and violent loss is shattering to his family and friends.

On top of this heartbreaking loss, Rob's family is not a position to pay for a funeral, and not the kind of send off such heroism deserves. They have applied for a grant but there's no guarantee this will be approved.

We are hoping to raise funds to help ease this burden for them. All proceeds from this page will be paid to his sister Erin.

Erin describes her brother as her "best friend" and a "fun, happy guy" with a "bright future".

"He was a year older than me. His name was Robert and I am Erin so we were Burt and Ernie you know. It is absolutely gutting for us. He had such a bright future. He was a chef and just getting his apprenticeship sorted out and about to move on to real nice restaurant soon.

He will be remembered as the fun, happy guy. He always had a smile on his face and a little sparkle in his eye. He was the life of the party and has been taken so savagely. The family loves him and the world lost a really great person. He has touched a lot of people's lives and they are now going to be missing such a bright person"
