Help Hugo Recover from the East Tamaki Storage Unit Fire
Help Hugo replace his drum kit and belongings, destroyed in the catastrophic East Tamaki fire.Auckland
Early in the morning on Monday, November 18, a fire broke out at Safe Store in East Tamaki, Auckland. The fire spread quickly, damaging the contents of all 74 units in the building, one belonging to our dear friend, Hugo Gravelle.
Hugo is a passionate and talented drummer, and has been playing drums for over 14 years. Drumming is a huge part of his life, and he puts a lot of time, work and dedication into it. The main purpose of his storage space was to be able to safely store and play his pride and joy — his Pearl Masters drum kit (worth close to 15K) which he spent years slaving away to purchase.
As well as his drum kit, he lost other music equipment such as PA monitors, crates full of rare vinyl, around 3K worth of camping gear that he was looking forward to using over the New Year period, and other irreplaceable personal items.
Unfortunately, none of the equipment lost in the fire is covered by insurance.
As Hugo will be starting from scratch to replace his belongings, any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Use of funds
All donations will be used to towards replacing Hugo's drum gear and belongings.
As this page was due to close tomorrow, we have decided to extend this fundraiser for another three months, to allow Hugo a bit more time to reach his goal.
Whilst the loss of his belongings (namely his prized drum kit) is something Hugo is still coming to terms with (and will do for quite some time), he wanted to let you all know how humbled he is by the donations, shares, and kindness he has received over the past six months.
We trust you are all keeping safe and well.
