Hey guys, I have been selected in the NZ Junior Rowing squad to compete in Racice, Czech Republic at the Junior World Champs in August.
Manawatu / Whanganui
Hey,
My name is Jamie Harris and recently I trialled and have been selected to represent New Zealand at the Junior World Rowing Champs being held at Racice in the Czech Republic in August. I first started a learn to row in my home town of Nelson in 2014 at the local club.
In 2015 I relocated to Wanganui Collegiate where my passion for rowing and the competitive environment grew as I began competing at local and national regattas. Doing extra training on my own late at night then lying awake visualising getting into the team shows how much this means to me, and now in my 3rd season the hard work has paid off.
I have had the honour to meet some talented & supportive people who have coached, mentored and supported me in Nelson, Whanganui and across the country. It will be a great honour to wear the silver fern and I am very excited to begin this new chapter.
This is an amazing opportunity for me and truly a dream come true, I’ve made it past the first stage of getting into the crew and now we will be training hard before traveling to compete on the world stage. But this will come at a cost of up to $10,000.
Every donation small or large would be immensely appreciated and will go towards travel expenses and accommodation costs whilst training and living at Lake Karapiro.
Thank you for taking the time to read this - Jamie:)
