Super excited to have been selected to race at the UCI MTB World Champs in Switzerland in September.

My name is Maxwell Wickens and I am a very keen mountain bike racer from Wellington. I compete in a number of different disciplines such as cyclocross, enduro, road and my personal favourite cross country.
It has been my goal to race in Europe and one day I hope to be in a factory race team to compete in the World Cup Series. I am very hardworking and a determined athlete currently works part-time at iRide Wellington to support my passion of cycling. In the summer months I also work as an instructor for WORD, Youth Mountain Adventures.
In my current 2018 season, I've so far managed a 2nd at NZ Secondary School Nationals, 4th at Cycling NZ North Champs, 5th at Cycling NZ Nationals and 12th at Continental Oceanian Champs.
I am absolutely honoured to have been selected by Cycling New Zeland to race at the UCI World Champs in September and I am asking for your help to get my bike and I to Switzerland. My goal is to do Wellington, New Zealand and myself proud.
All donations will be used to travel to Switzerland and compete.
