I am going to be interning in Malawi, but I need your help, please!
Auckland
I have recently been awarded an internship to work in Lilongwe, Malawi next February! I will be working on a social enterprise geared towards solving social issues prevalent in the community. The aim of my trip, and the organisation, Project Everest Ventures, is to establish long term, sustainable business models that will help create an independent economy. This will assist in the strengthening of Malawi's community. PEV is different from volunteer organisations because they have the goal of working alongside communities to develop a local economy, making them less dependent on foreign aid and volunteering.
The only issue is that it is costing me a significant amount of money. Whilst I will be living even more frugally than a student usually does, I am going to need help from my own community to help another. So please, if you have the means and want to help me out a bit, help me get my actual face into the actual country of Malawi! I understand that this is a tough time for many but I would really appreciate it if you could skip a coffee this week to help me out!
The funds raised will go towards my fees for the internship. The fees will include accomodation, training and education, health and safety, and food!
