Help me help my mumma

On the 27th of June my beautiful mother had an operation to remove a large tumor that had grown on her uterus. Apon removing the tumor they sent it away for a biopsy and she was diagnosed with Uterine Leiomyosarcoma, stage 1B. The tumor was cancerous however the cancer cells in the tumor were incapsulated with non-cancerous cells on the outside. She was advised to get no treatment and her gynocologist was almost positive that it would not grow back due to the fact that the cancer cells were incapsulated.

3 months later on the 25th of October, she got a scan to find that this was not infact the case. There was a wide spread reaccurence of this rare and aggressive cancer and two new tumors had formed. She was referred to an oncologist. 1 week later she had severe pain and the 2 new tumors in her abdominal had doubled in size. This now put her cancer from stage 1B to a stage 4.

She started her first dose of chemotherapy treatment on the 6th of December. She will do 3 cycles which takes 9 weeks. They will then re-scan her to see if the tumors have shrunk, if they have she will be flown to Wellington for a major operation to remove them. If the tumors haven't shrunk she will do another 3 cycles of chemo.

After the third week of her treatment she will start losing her hair, and so will I. To help raise funds I have decided to shave my hair off in support of my beautiful and incredibly strong mother.
