Please help me pay for my last year's tuition in Auckland University. I want to keep pursuing my dream as a violinist.

Auckland

Hello, my name is Danny Kim.

I am from South Korea and I am currently a student at the Auckland University studying music performance in violin proficiency. I will hopefully be starting my last year in July and graduating next year.

Although I have received honors each semester, as an international student, I do not qualify for most of the scholarships. With the help of professors, I was able to come this far in my education. However, I might not be able to finish my studies if I do not have enough to register for this semester. As an international student, I am required to pay the full tuition for the semester in order to enroll and register for classes. I really want to be able to enroll for my last year so that I can keep pursuing my dream as a violinist. Otherwise, I will have to go back to Korea.

Here is a short introduction about myself as a violinist and why I am here in Auckland, New Zealand:

I grew up in a Christian home as my father was a pastor and now a missionary in Vanuatu (A small country near New Zealand). I started learning the violin at the age of seven. I fell in love with the instrument very quickly and dreamed of being a professional violinist one day. I was by from great teachers who were concertmasters of well-known orchestras. My teachers knew that my parents would not able to afford the costly lesson fees so they were very gracious and told us to not worry about the fees so much. They always told me and my parents that they are doing this because of the great talent and passion they see in me.

I was growing to become a better violinist as I entered numerous competitions and got in first place or second on many of them. I had opportunities to perform solos with orchestras as well. When I was 14, I had become the concertmaster of my city's youth orchestra. When I was 15, with a deep discussion with my parents, I had decided to drop out of high school and solely focus on the violin to prepare myself for university.

I came to Auckland, New Zealand as I got accepted to be a student at the Auckland University. I have met a wonderful professor at the university who has led me through my journey. Although the tuition was very high, my parents worked their hardest to support me. They cannot support me anymore because my father is now a missionary to Vanuatu and my mother has become too weak to work many hours.

Thank you so much for reading my story. I will need to raise $12,000 before July so that I can enroll for this second to last semester. For the whole year I would need $30,000. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Use of funds

I will be using the money to pay for my university tuition.
