Miller has cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia) and needs an operation and intensive physio to enable him to walk independently.

We are setting up this page to help the super cool Miller Gray.

Miller was born via emergency c-section at 32 weeks premature due to Mum having a placenta abruption.

On the 20th April 2015 Miller was diagnosed with mild Spastic Diplegia - Cerebral Palsy in his legs making walking, balance and other basic everyday tasks difficult to do.

Millers start to life was not straight forward and he has had many challenges along the way.

Miller crawled for the first time at 21 months and was able to take his first steps in a walker at the age of 2.5years old. Miller now walks shorts distances with the aid of leg splints and his walker for long distances.

Miller’s wish is to walk and run unaided like all of his friends.

Nathan and Amanda (Miller’s dad and Mum) have just found out he has been accepted for a surgery on March 6th 2020 at St. Louis children’s hospital, Missouri, USA called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), which will permanently reduce the spasticity in Miller’s legs and give him improved balance, posture, endurance and the independence to walk in all environments unaided — totally life changing!!!

This journey is very expensive and will cost the family approximately $130,000.00.

Nathan and Amanda will do all it takes to give Miller the very best opportunity to walk unaided, play and do all the things his sisters and friends can do.

Miller will need intensive physio therapy for 2 years post surgery, 5 days a week for the first 12 months then will reduce over time.

Unfortunately this surgery and physio is not funded in New Zealand.

Miller is the most kind hearted 6 year old who motivates us everyday with his determination for life. He accepts every challenge with a smile on his face and a determined spirit.

We are so proud of Miller and just want to give him the best chance at his best life.

Please help Miller fulfill his dream of independence and ‘Give a little’ if you can.

Best wishes
