My beautiful sister, wife and mother to a 3 year old little boy who is also 33 weeks pregnant with her second son has been recently diagnosed with Leukemia. This has been a disheartening and harrowing time as she has just completed her first round of chemo and has had 5 blood transfusions and will soon be induced to have her son 5 weeks early due and will be placed into NICU so that she can start more Chemotherapy to treat her Leukemia. It is high likely that she will need to receive a bone marrow transplant soon and this will require the family to move to Auckland for 10 weeks while she receives the life saving treatment. Your donations will help cover living cost and travel costs while they go through this tough time as her husband Nate has had to stop working to be her full time career as well as looking after their three year old son and newborn once he arrives. Would like to give everyone an update on how everything is going. Nikki is currently in hospital finishing off her final round of chemotherapy her last dose of chemo was last Saturday and is now waiting for her levels to drop and pick back up for the last time! Nikki has been tested mentally and physically as each round has been an up and down Rollercoaster. She has shown amazing strength and courage to get through each obstacle that has popped up along the way with the help of her wonderful nurses and doctors who have always come to her aid at the drop of a hat. Both of our boys cant wait too have their mum back home and help her recover back to her former self but 100x better. We are truly humbled by the sheer generosity and the amount of support we have been shown in this testing time and are deeply grateful. I will update further when nikki is 100% finished and back home to celebrate how ever she would like. Again i would like thank you all from the bottom of my heart and hope too see some if not most of you soon.
