We are raising money to support two life changing charities/ services and following a recent serious workplace accident
Waikato
In October 2016 one of our employees, Jesse, sustained serious injuries while working on one of our worksites, this included a spinal injury leaving Jesse paralysed from the waist down and has left him wheelchair bound.
Since the accident, Jesse continues to amaze and inspire us with his attitude, positive outlook. His injury has in no way slowed him down! Jesse has been actively trying his hand at any and all sports including: basketball, wheelchair rugby, bodybuilding, and even recently competing in a half marathon and then only last month completed the New York marathon!
As a business we want to show Jesse our continued support and thought there is no better way to do this than put feet to pavement and earn some sponsorship for such a great individual! So as a company and a team we have decided to compete in the length of the lake relay in Taupo on the 17th February 2018.
On discussing our plans with Jesse, he has confirmed that rather than the money going directly to him he would much rather pass on any money raised to the charities and organisation that supported him in his time of need. Therefore, all money raised will be split between the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit and the Westpac Air Ambulance.
We have 24 registered Runners, making up three teams of 8 who will each run a leg to complete the 67km distance.
Shaun, the Managing Director in Hamilton is also attempting to complete the 67km run individually….. Yes he is nuts!
For more information on the event check out:
100% of all money raised will go the Westpac Air Ambulance and the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit
