Supporting Nevaeh’s Whānau after a tragic house fire
Auckland
On Friday night, a devastating fire tore through a home in Cambridge, claiming the life of 14-year-old Nevaeh Ngamoki-Porter – a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and a cherished student of Rototuna Junior High School.
Nevaeh, whose name is “Heaven” spelled backwards, was a radiant soul who lived up to her name in every way. Her deep passion for Kapa Haka and Te Reo Māori, and her boundless energy, brought life and joy to her school community. She was a proud member of Tuna Whakapeke and Raratuna, and her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
This unimaginable tragedy has not only left a family heartbroken but has also taken everything they owned. Nevaeh’s whānau are now faced with the unbearable grief of losing a child, while also having to completely start over – finding a new home, replacing all their belongings, and rebuilding their lives from scratch.
All funds raised through this Givealittle page will go directly to Nevaeh’s whānau to help with:
Emergency housing and long-term accommodation
Replacing essential belongings lost in the fire
Supporting the whānau as they begin the long journey of healing
Please give a little to support this beautiful whānau through a time no one should ever have to endure.
