Lets come together as a community to nurture something bigger than ourselves. Every donation, big or small, will directly support recovery
Kaitoke, Upper Hutt
Earlier this week, a fire tore through the Papawhakaritorito farm, leaving devastation in its wake. The farm, which is central to the trust’s mission of fostering sustainable practices and community connection, has suffered a huge and heartbreaking loss.
Half of the farmhouse was destroyed, and with it, the vital resources needed to continue the trust's incredible work:
All of the seeds—the lifeblood of the garden—were lost.
Merchandise for the shop, which helps fund the trust's initiatives, was destroyed.
The water pump that supplies the garden was burnt, and all water has been contaminated.
The Papawhakaritorito farm isn’t just a garden—it’s a place of hope, growth, and learning. It provides a space for the community to connect with the land, learn sustainable practices, and take part in a collective effort to care for Papatūānuku (Mother Earth).
Your generosity will help restore this beautiful space so it can continue to thrive as a hub for sustainability, education, and community connection
