Disaster has left a young women with no house, no job, PTSD and having to resort to begging on the streets of Wellington.
Wellington
Paula lost everything in a house fire in Wanganui 2 months ago. She had 2 flatmates who were smoking weed and drinking in her house. She had asked them to leave but was told by police that she had to give them 2 weeks notice which she did. While staying at a friends house one night to get away from them she got a phone call from police at 1am to tell her she needed to come home. She arrived to watch her house burn to the ground. Her flatmates had fallen asleep while smoking setting the house on fire. She now has only the clothes she was wearing and a few personal items.
Paula had no insurance as never imagined this would ever happen. She is now suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which has left her without a job and living on a disability benefit. She is now trying to re-build her life in Wellington but living on a benefit makes it very difficult to get the help she needs to re-build her life. After accommodation costs at a backpackers she had only $40 a week for food and has now resorted to begging on the streets.
Please help Paula to get her life back. She needs councilling and support to help her build a future. If you can help by even a small amount she would really appreciate it.
Met Paula in town and she told me her story and I wanted to help.
Living expenses, counselling, bond for getting a flat and setting up from scratch with furniture etc.
