Stop toothache and bring a smile to the kids at Hebron Children's Home.
Canterbury
In the Philippines there are many children living in difficult conditions, toddlers are growing up in places full of crime and poverty. Hebron Children's Home accepts disadvantaged children from the Bulacan region. It operates a program of Christian love and care. Providing basic needs and education and if safe and viable preparing them to reconcile back to their family, or to a new family within two years.
Recently it has become apparent that there is a need to establish a dental program. Many of the children are afraid to visit the dentist as it is well known one of the ways to treat tooth ache is to remove the tooth. A beautiful girl aged only 14 quietly suffered for far too long. Covering her mouth when she smiled so no-one could see the decay. A wonderful dentist has been found who will save teeth rather than extract them but this is costly.
Lucia and I ran a mile a day every day in 2020 (585km) to raise money. We ran in all seasons and many locations. Experiencing sunshine, wind, rain, mist, frost, sunsets, stars and even hedgehogs.
All money raised will be spent on dental treatment for the 21 children in the Children's home and setting up a regular dental program for maintenance.
Running for smiles 31 July 2021
Almost reached our goal. Kids are so happy with their new smiles but still more money needed to maintain their teeth. Please donate. Only one more month left. Thanks
