Help Raylene and her kids rebuild the animal shelter she and her children set up at their home.
Auckland
Raylene Holder set up an animal rescue shelter (Auckland Cavy Care) at her home in Auckland years ago. Raylene and her two kids take in, look after and rehouse all animals, but mostly guinea pigs – because no one else wants to or can, and there’s a big need.
Because Raylene is so good with animals, she’s well-known and will never turn down another ‘guest’ who turns up to her shelter.
We’ve set up this Give-A-Little page for our colleague Raylene because she’s had some terrible luck and we want to help. She’s one of the first who will put her hand up at work to help others and we want to do the same for her.
The family’s home and shelter suffered a burst pipe this week, which has significantly impacted much of what she and her family have built up for the shelter. When disaster struck in the middle of the night, Raylene’s first instinct was to rehouse all the animals from the shelter and now she faces a huge clean-up bill ($3,000 that she doesn’t have) that is in excess of insurance.
Raylene gives so much to others and we want to give back to her, so we opened this Give-A-Little page (she’d never do this herself) so she and her family can cover the cost of the clean-up excess so they can rebuild the shelter. If you’d like to support Raylene and her animal shelter in this way, we’d really appreciate it. And so would she.

Funds raised will be used to cover the clean-up excess cost after extreme water damage to the house and shelter. Anything above the $3,000 target will be used for Auckland Cavy Care’s work to house, de-sex and rehome all the animals the family takes in.
