Help Sam and Ashlea at this challenging time

Sam is a loving husband to Ashlea and devoted father to 4 gorgeous kids (the twins- River and Beau 4 months, Carter 5 and Ivy 4). They are the most wonderful family that have had their lives shaken up recently.

Sam recently was found unconscious at work and after being admitted to hospital for monitoring and tests a brain aneurysm and a large brain bleed were found. An urgent decision was then made to fly Sam to Wellington for brain surgery. Wednesday he began to deteriorate even more and an urgent decision was made to operate. Sam went into emergency brain surgery to stop the brain bleed. His aneurysm will be another surgery at a later date. Sam has a big recovery ahead of him and he has had a few big seizures since so they are still closely monitoring him. Ashlea has been at his side through all of this while juggling the twin babies.

All of this has be extremely difficult for the family. Ashlea is off on maternity leave and Sam has been at home and it is unclear when he will be able to return to work. Being in Wellington (is a long way from home) and the only accomodation close to the hospital so Ashlea and the babies are close is expensive, not to mention all the other expenses. And there will be plenty more visits, surgeries and stays in the weeks to come as they continue to get Sam back to his strong and healthy self.
