Help save Cookie the beautiful 9 week old black lab.
Wellington
Cookie is a wonderful tiny baby black labrador. I met her through puppy play school, her owners are training her and her brother to be very good dogs.
Her 7 month old brother, a beautiful chocolate labrador with a heart of gold, knows how to shake, sit, lie down, and come to his name. The one thing he doesn't know how to do, is stop being a dog. As male dogs sometimes do, he played with her a bit too enthusiastically. His owner was watching them play over a bone. She is so upset - Cookie is now recuperating from bites.
Unfortunately this happened while the family is still waiting for the 90 day stand-down period for pet insurance. They have three beautiful daughters and take very good care of their animals and humans. They just can't financially afford this to happen right now.
Dogs are, at heart, wild animals. Sometimes when they're still being trained, they do silly things. This family is spending so much time and money training their dog, this has put them in financial turmoil.
I am asking for you to help out with Cookie's vet bills, if you can. I understand in 2021 there's a lot of heart break internationally, but we love Cookie and we want her to be able to afford the vet care she needs.
I am a friend of the family and fellow dog owner and animal aficionado.
The money will be spent on vet bills for Cookie and a food parcel o make sure this very stressed family eats for a few days, while they are caring for Cookie. Any extra money that is not needed will be donated to the SPCA.
Thanks everyone for contributing for Cookie 4 June 2021
We're all very glad Cookie is doing a lot better. The vet bills came to $1023. A food hamper for the family $150 and 200 to assist with Cookie's vaccination that was delayed while she was injured.
Thanks so much for being so kind, we're pleased to announce $247 will be donated to the New Zealand SPCA.
