Please help to save my little guy Kevin, involved in a hit and run accident
Manawatu / Whanganui
This is my desperate plea for help, for anyone who cares to read on..
My little pup Kevin has been involved in a hit and run accident on New Year’s Day, the driver hit him and just took off. He has injuries to his internal organs as well as a broken leg, it saddens me so much that I only have just under half the funds needed to fix him.
I gave birth four days ago to my first baby, and I have no support from my family whatsoever, I am struggling emotionally, and finding it very hard to cope.
Since the new baby came along, Kevin had been by his side day and night, they would have grown up together, and enjoyed a full and happy life, but sadly if I cannot pay for his treatment, he will be put down.
The vet has advised me that the cost of surgery will be between 3000 and 5000 dollars, I have just under half of that. The outcome after surgery looks very good, and the vet is confident he will survive and recover well, as he is young and strong. Right now he’s waiting at the vets surgery for me to make a decision, if I can convince them to go ahead with the procedure with the funds I already have, it will leave me and my newborn with nothing, just what we have in the fridge and the rent paid for the next week, so I cant agree to the operation until im sure we will be able to cope financially.
I know, and I understand, this is no ones responsibility but mine, I just can’t do this alone, and i have to reach out, if anyone who loves animals can sympathize with me, I would be ever so grateful for any help offered, and I will repay the good karma just as soon as I can, I promise.
Any funds will go to pay the vet bills for Kevin’s surgery and recovery
He’s home! 27 January 2018
Hi everyone!
This will hopefully be the last update on Kevin, we have him home now after surgery, and we couldn’t be happier or more grateful to all you kind people who’ve helped make this possible! He’s had a plate put into his leg, and we will keep up with the therapy to help it heal correctly, the vet was really optimistic..
We go back to Massey in about 5 weeks for a check up X-ray to see how it’s doing.
Again, thank you thank you thank you! Without your support the outcome would of been very different.. if anyone is local (Levin) and wants to meet up with me and Kevin, we’d be happy to do so!
