Help Sharon fight this awful disease and make the most of the time she has left.
Auckland
Cancer is an expensive business from the cost of treatments, to travel, organic foods, holistic therapies and just finding the money to make those important memories.
Our mum Sharon has been diagnosed with malignant plural mesothelioma. A rare and aggressive disease caused by exposure to asbestos.
Her diagnosis literally tipped our whole world upside down. It was only 8 months prior that she was lucky enough to have found her birth mother and four wonderful siblings as well as a large extended family and she was busy making plans for future holidays and catch up's and just generally buzzing with excitement.
You see our mum is our rock she is the glue that holds our whole family together. She is a rarity, a mother in law adored by her son in laws, a grandmother whose grandchildren love to spend time with her, a wife to her husband of 40 years and a mum that we can proudly call our best friend.
We know this disease is incurable there are other treatment options such as immunotherapy that runs into tens of thousands of dollars, of course we would love for our prayers to be answered and have that amount of money available to offer her at least a few more precious years. However if our dream is unobtainable having a making memories fund would come a close second. To have mum not worrying about how she can make these things happen and instead focus on that all important bucket list. As a family we have all pooled our resources but money is tight and time is short.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our wonderful mum and would greatly appreciate any donation no matter how small.
