Help Sheryl to make the most out of the rest of her time!

In January 2017 Sheryl, at the age of 28, was dignosed with bowel cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes and her right ovary (classed as stage 4 bowel cancer) This meant major surgery of bowel reconstruction and removal of her ovary. 4 weeks after surgery Sheryl begun her first round of chemotherapy with 12 in total to be had over a period of 6 months. With issues along the way of low blood counts, many had to be delayed as she wasn't fighting fit enough for the next dose. Finally finishing chemo mid September (8 months later) she was given the all clear.

With monthly routine scans, and Sheryl knowing something didn't feel quite right with her.

5 months after had been given the all clear she was told the cancer was back in her left ovary. (Secondary to bowel cancer)

In May 2018 Sheryl had another operation to remove her ovary and the 18cm tumour attached to it. She was told that chemo won't help her and this type of cancer will continue to reaccur until there's nothing more they can do. At the end of June she was told her life expectancy is 1-2 years.

Sheryl still remains positive, as she has throughout her battle. As chemo won't help her she has turned to natural alternatives, but this does come at a cost.

She is still unable to return to work full time, as she is still suffering side effects from the chemo, including fatigue and low energy levels, but is working part time at a job she loves.

Sheryl still has so much she wants to see and do and has formulated a ‘bucket list’, which includes travel and a family holiday overseas.
