A heartfelt fundraiser to support Danielle and Jeremy as they care for Liam, who is bravely battling a rare genetic condition.
Lower Hutt, Wellington
Liam is Danielle and Jeremy’s much longed-for and deeply treasured IVF baby — their tiny miracle after years of heartbreak, hope and determination.
After beginning their IVF journey in 2020, and two public-funded rounds, Liam was their very last embryo — their final chance to become parents. Everything went smoothly until Danielle went into labour early, and their beautiful boy arrived at just 33 weeks.
Soon after his birth, genetic testing revealed that Liam has a rare condition that came back as normal/inconclusive, which can affect the liver, heart, and other parts of the body. It’s a diagnosis no parent ever expects or prepares for.
This week, routine blood tests showed concerning results and Liam was admitted to Wellington Hospital for monitoring while a plan is made for the next steps. It’s likely he will need to be transferred to Starship Hospital in Auckland for specialist care.
Danielle and Jeremy live in Lower Hutt and had just bought their first home before Danielle became pregnant. She’s currently on maternity leave and unable to return to work while Liam is so unwell. Jeremy continues to balance work and supporting his family through this challenging time.
This page has been created to help ease financial pressure so they can focus on what matters most — Liam’s health and healing. Any donation or message of support means the world. 💛
