We would like to toutoko the Lett whanau by helping relieve some of the costs during this stressful time.
Wellington
A two-car crash near Tokoroa at 5.45am last Friday morning (26 June) left Reece Lett in Critical Care in Waikato Hospital.
Reece sustained a severely broken leg and damage to his rib cage from the crash, and the impact to his brain is still unknown – he was given a very small percent chance of survival at the scene.
While Reece has made small improvements over the last week – including an operation on his leg and the removal of the monitor bolt in his head – he is still in the Critical Care ward on a ventilator.
The Critical Care team are hoping to wake him up over the next few days. We’re grateful to the amazing nurses and doctors supporting Reece’s recovery.
Reece’s whanau and friends have been staying near Waikato Hospital – many of them six hours from their home in Wairarapa – to be by his side
Unfortunately, Reece’s sister and his niece are unable to fly to New Zealand because of the COVID-19 restrictions.
The Lett whanau have played an active role in the Wairarapa community for many years.
His father, Kev, has volunteered for Featherston Fire Brigade for many years and Reece is an active member of the Greytown Rugby Club and Wairarapa Rugby.
