Help support the Veamatahau family during a difficult time

After experiencing serious heart-related health issues, Alekisio Veamatahau travelled from Tonga to Christchurch to get urgent medical care. Despite the best efforts of the doctors and medical staff, he sadly passed away.

His family are now facing not only the devastating loss of a much-loved father, husband, grandfather, uncle and brother, but also an overwhelming financial burden. As he was not a New Zealand resident, the costs of his medical care have been substantial. On top of this, the family must now find a way to bring him home to Tonga, where he can be laid to rest surrounded by his loved ones, family, and community.

No family should have to navigate such significant financial stress while grieving the loss of someone so deeply loved.
