UPDATE:

Hi Friends & Family 👋🏽

Firstly, Thank you so much to everyone who has already sent their regards, given money or gifts 🎁We are truely grateful. It’s times like these when you see how important Friends and Family are ❤️

As some of you know Rusi’s Mum Temalesi has been in hospital 🏥

Tema was in hospital for 2 weeks and in that time had 3 surgeries- the last one was an amputation below the knee 😔 Tema is now doing very well and is at home with us learning how to get around with one leg and is in a wheelchair.

She will have to go back to Dunedin hospital in the next few weeks to receive and learn to use her new prosthetic leg 😊

As Tema is a visitor here in New Zealand 🇳🇿 health care is not funded by the government. So we will have to pay for all the healthcare she has received up until now and more for follow up appointments to come plus the weeks stay to fit her leg 😔

We have just received the bill of

NZD $75, 000 😳

We realise that this is a huge amount of money and never expect to get that much through our give a little page but we would really appreciate any help for us to pay a lump some to the Southern DHB to get us through for a few months while we get our own finances in order and prepare for our Baby Girl to be born 🌸

A big thanks to Steph for setting up the give a little page and for Mum and Dad for all the help over the past few weeks.

Thanks so much again everyone, any donations will be hugely appreciated 🥰

Vinaka Vaka Levu ❤️

Initial Post:

Tema came over for the Amazing wedding of her son Rusi and Hannah on August 17th. She had a pre existing injury that has unfortunately flared up. On Friday 6th September after a trip to the pharmacy in Te Anau they were told to go straight to Kew Hospital, where she was was admitted into the Emergency Department with acute diabetes and septicaemia in her foot. After a night in ED she was transferred to Dunedin hospital for a life or limb surgery with a high possibility of having to face more surgeries in the upcoming days. Unfortunately this is not funded, the newly married couple are already facing large medical costs and will have more to come with ongoing surgeries and treatments. Hannah and Rusi are the only family in NZ and they are also expecting their first child in November. Any support is very appreciated as these guys go through a challenging time.
