Support The Animal Ark

The Animal Ark is a small Farm Park Petting Zoo & Rescue Sanctuary, providing a safe forever home for many unwanted, sick, or special-needs animals.

Our goal has always been to give every animal that comes to us the chance at their best life by offering a home with us at the farm (or facilitating finding them a perfect new home) - free from pain, hunger, fear & loneliness.

We have travelled around the South Island multiple times to bring animals back to The Ark, for reasons including no food, health issues, abandonment, being sent for slaughter, being the wrong sex or colour, not being ‘cute’ anymore, incorrect ‘dangerous’ classifications - the list goes on.

We try to never say no to an animal in need - where funds & space allow - & to adopt or purchase animals whenever we can help (often from auctions, commercial farms, abattoirs & the like).

We also offer education & support to animal owners wherever possible.

Unfortunately, The Ark has recently been hit by multiple weather events, including flooding & damaging high winds, which has severely impacted us financially. The petting zoo, which is our main source of income, has not been able to operate & now with winter here we’re faced with several more months of no income.

This has put us in the awful position of needing to ask for support.

We know this is a tough time for many families at the moment, & we are humbled & so very greatful to all those who want to help keep The Animal Ark afloat.
