Please help Lloyd and Leo fund their next IUI to finally bring their much wanted baby home.
Waikato
Lloyd and Leo have been trying to have a baby since they got married in 2016.
It’s now 2022 and they still have no baby at home with them, although they do have 3 angel babies watching over them.
After a year of trying to get pregnant on their own, they decided it was time to Get some help. After numerous amounts of testing they were diagnosed with Male Factor Infertility, and Leo was also diagnosed with Endometriosis.
They were entitled to 2 funded rounds of IVF. They completed their first round in 2018 and had one embryo to transfer. They transferred in July of 2018 and unfortunately lost the baby, who they named Lily, at 10 weeks. Their second round went much the same and they again had one embryo to transfer, and they did so in 2020. Unfortunately this baby, who they named Hank, was lost at 8 weeks.
Since they had no more funded rounds left, they decided to switch to using a personal donor and do IUI rather than IVF, which cost them $25k of their own money.
They successfully fell pregnant, got further along than they ever had but unfortunately lost the baby, Dot, at 10 weeks again.
To say they are heartbroken to be at square one again is an understatement, and to be going into their 6th year of trying to have a baby is incredibly unfair. Understandably funds are tight but they are not willing to give up on bringing their baby home.
Please help Lloyd and Leo to fund their next round plus have testing done to figure out why they have had recurrent miscarriages, and hopefully have a baby in their arms at the end of it all.
I am a close friend of Lloyd and Leo.
Going towards funding their next IUI round which includes testing & the procedure itself.
Next steps 11 July 2022
Lloyd and Leo are still on their journey, this month they will have a lipiodol flush before attempting their fourth IUI with different meds. They have unfortunately had 2 unsuccessful IUI rounds in the past 2 months. This is going to cost them around $3500. They are currently borrowing money so all givealittle funds will be greatly appreciated!
They were also interviewed for the Waikato times to share their stories, break the stigma around infertility and loss and to let other parents going through the same thing know they are not alone!
I am forever in awe of their courage, strength, determination and positivity even with everything that is thrown their way!
