To try and raise much needed funds for our buns in care. Sadly rabbit rescues get very little help and the bills are extremely high.
Auckland
We are one of only 4 rabbit rescues in NZ vs hundreds of cat and dog rescues. Why’s that? It is so hard to keep a rabbit rescue open! That’s basically it!
The workload is overwhelming as although we only have 4 rescues, Rabbits are the third most popular companion animal in NZ and so the amount of help needed does not represent the amount of help available.
We try to educate the public, do community desexing and we are there to advise online 7 days a week. Now we need your help. We cannot continue our work, if we cannot pay our vet bills.
We have rabbits in our care on long term medication, when our rabbits go into stasis we don’t take chances and we take them to the emergency, we have over 50 in care that need annual vaccinations, we desex and chip all in care and we ensure they are all getting the vet care they need.
To try and bring the costs down, the founder supplies all the hay and food needed through The bunny Bach, she grooms the buns that need it along with one other volunteer grooming also. We also do lots of fundraising events. But it sadly doesn’t cut it.
With no help from the government and no grants, we are dependent on the help of the public to allow us continue.
Any donation, large or small will be hugely appreciated.
You have no idea how far your donation goes. Thank you.
