Please help Eddy and this family at this hard time
Auckland
Help us help Eddy live his best life both in intensive care and at home and school.
Eddy has had the roughest year. He was prevented from accessing his medicinal cannabis and suffered hundreds of seizures for months on end. He talks constantly about his fear of dying from seizures.
After an emergency admission to monitor his seizures he got a virus which compromised his breathing. After another emergency admission to respiratory for a CPAP ventilator he got RSV.
Now he is in PICU at Starship intubated on a ventilator breathing for him as his airway is completely compromised. Mum and Dad are at his bedside around the clock advocating for his needs.
He hasnt been to school in months and earlier this year his teacher aide funding was cut. Despite his all his seizures and difficulty using a CPAP machine Mum and Dad had never had a night off.
His family receive a few hours of carer support a week and everything else they pay for. From his medicine which costs $25000 a year to specialists, carergivers and special food they fund it all.
Now he is in hospital again and they can’t work. Auckland rent is expensive, they have to pay for childcare of Eddy’s 18mth baby brother Harry while they stay in Ronald McDonald house and Eddy’s medical costs are climbing.
Help ease the financial stress of looking after such a special little boy and provide the support Eddy needs to live his best life both in hospital and at home. Looking after Eddy is 24/7 job. Donations will help with rent, meds, childcare and night nurse.
Me & Katy met when we were only 10 years old & she's is one of my best friends and the most incredible human who would never ask for help - but help everyone else! I wanted to take away some of the financial stress during this hard time.
