Help Us Raise the Balance of the Cost of a Safer Hoist System and Van for Our Luke
To enable Luke's continued safe transport to church, school, medical appointments and activities, as well as inclusion in family outings.

We are reaching out for your support for our loving son Luke.
Luke is special needs with multiple complicated medical conditions including significant global development delay with severe intellectual disability. He is non-verbal and requires full time support and care. He has been this way from birth.
Luke is now 18 and a young adult.
At 6ft, 2inches and 110kg, our growing young adult now requires a 20” by 22” wheelchair which no longer fully fits on his current van hoist system.
Unfortunately, this means that a new larger size hoist system which can take Luke and his chair safely will no longer fit in the current Van. We have had our current Van for 11 years.
Our Givealittle page is to seek your assistance with raising the balance of the cost for the purchase of a safer and larger hoist system and Van - NZD$35,000.
The larger hoist system and van will ensure the safety transport of Luke to some of his programming during the school day as well as being able to access the local hydrotherapy pool for fortnightly water based strengthening and conditioning sessions to help maintain his musculoskeletal health. These sessions have been recommended by both the Physiotherapist and his orthopaedic specialist.
Without the van, he cannot get to these facilities.
It will also enable Luke’s continued inclusion in family outings outside of the home such as church, visiting family and access to his community activities.

Dear family n friends
We would like give God the glory and would like to thank you all so much for your prayers n support
Our journey started 3 years ago, with looking into what was needed. With Luke been unwell and the COVID, with 9 months of raising funds. We found a van in December. To get the hoist we were number 20 on the waiting list, a 2 months waiting.In January the car yard got broken into and the keys for the van got stolen. We were able to pick up the van on Tuesday 22nd February. After stopping on our way home in reversing we hit a pie that was sticking out of a fence that we didn’t see. We broke the back window and some panel damage With the help of Tana and Esther form Rapid Repair Specialists we were able to get the glass put in on Friday 25th. Thank you all this would have not been possible with all you help and support
