Help us rebuild our Coptic orthodox church that was destroyed by the Christchurch earthquake back in 2010/2011.

St Mary and St Anthanasious church in Christchurch is the oldest Coptic Orthodox church in New Zealand. The original building was tragically destroyed by the 2010/2011 earthquakes. Since then we have been praying in a temporary structure while building a new beautiful church.
We have so far built the foundation and frame of the church but due to the high cost of construction, we are unable to continue with the project.
We urgently need 500,000 NZD for stage one: to complete the roof. Without which the whole structure is at risk and we may lose all progress to date. Once this urgent stage is complete, we will raise further funds to reach the $3 Million required to finish the building.
The Coptic Orthodox community in Christchurch is asking everyone to help as much as they can, every dollar counts!

Our Coptic Orthodox church is distinguished for being the most ancient church in the world. It was established in Alexandria, Egypt by Saint Mark. Saint Mary and Saint Athanasius church is the sole Coptic Orthodox church in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Use of funds
The money raised will go towards completing the unfinished church building.
