The Marotiri Community would like to help by raising funds to support William during this big fight
Waikato
William was a healthy 16 year old local Marotiri boy, enjoying all hunting and the outdoors. He is responsible and hard working, helping his Dad work on the dairy farm that he manages and enjoying time with Mum where he spends the other half of his time.
William is a popular and respectful student at Taupo Nui a Tia College, having attended Marotiri Primary School prior to that.
The Robertson family have been part of Marotiri/Tihoi community for many years, both parents and grandparents have been heavily involved with Marotiri School, being on the Board, part of the PTA and helping to support the school by organising all kind of events, and are involved in the local community.
In the middle of July, William was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma, a form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in which cancer starts in immune cells called B-cells. Recognized as a fast growing human tumor, Burkitt lymphoma is associated with impaired immunity and is rapidly fatal if left untreated.
He is currently in Starship Hospital in Auckland, even though he has past the age bracket of this hospital, but due to the aggressiveness of the illness, they have opened their doors to him, where his mother Melissa is by him same as Mark and Liz.
William has two younger brothers that he is really close to, he is a great role model and friend in all matters.
We want that William to keeps enjoying life and pursuing his passions like an authentic country boy.
As a Marotiri community member and a friend, I am just putting together the feeling of a large group of people that want to do something to help William in this heartbreaking time on his fight against this terrible illness.
Funds raised will be put into a Trust account for William with his father Mark Robertson like a Trustee.
