Our dear sister Butterflies lost everything last night in Northland.

Awoken by torrential rain at 4 am Butterflies instincts told her to get to safety and leave her Caravan last night (12th March). All of us who know and love her are so grateful she did this as what happened next is in her own words: A major flood devastated my life...took my caravan and the roof covering it that was cemented into the ground. She also tells us: The rush of making it out alive is wearing off. I am now facing all that I lost financially and will have to pay for and am going into depression...

givealittle have advised we need to be clear that Butterflies has no insurance for lost items.

From one human to another, it's the least we can do. I've known Butterflies for several years and admired her work immensely.

Use of funds

Please give what you can to help this long term vegan activist who has worked so tirelessly for the animals. She needs to replace the caravan she was living in as well as the contents. The act of giving will help her get back on her feet and as important, certainly boost her moral. Thank you all in advance xx

Dear Butterflies, I am so, so sorry to hear the devastating news about your losses from a flood. My thoughts are with you, Mate! I wish I could afford more to give you but since Larry's passing I have not yet received any of the benefits I was to get to help me survive financially.
