Southland
Ethan was not getting any better after having a root canal done and was taken to the hospital on Friday. He was bleeding internally due to low platelet levels and given a transfusion in the ambulance on the way to a bigger hospital. On Saturday he was admitted to Intensive Care and told he had a 90% chance of having Leukemia. He was air lifted to Dunedin hospital where it was confirmed. Ethan is now being transferred to Christchurch to begin treatment. Ethan has began a series of Chemo and Bone Marrow Tests. Ethan's Mum Sharon is up there with him. Ethan has been in Christchurch for 7 weeks now and has undergone 6 Chemotherapy sessions and 7 Bone Marrow Aspirations. He has been sick with headaches, off his food and losing weight. They are hoping for him to gain 5 kilos by this Tuesday (17th Oct) or they have to give him a protien tube. A big thank you to all those who have helped in anyway it is very much appreciated.
I am Ethan's honorary Nana I have been a big part of Ethans life in the last 9 years and him and his family have become part of my family. Ethan has always been a caring young man and it is hard to see him as he is now.
The funds will be used to help Ethan and his Mother, Sharon, while they are away and going through this hard time.
Ethans Journey Through Lukemia 6 November 2017
Ethan has had quite a few ups and downs in his journey and is trying his hardest to stay positive. The knowledge that people are there for him and even strangers has given him a boost. His mother Sharon said they are not sure how long they will be up there as his treatment as had to slow down through him getting infections and he has had a seizure. Thamk you to all those who have helped and for those of you that find it in your hearts to donate, even a little bit goes a long way to help the stress and strain fely by this family.
