Help John live alittle
Northland
Help John and his family,
John is 48, he is the father of 7 children between the ages of 6-20.He also has a 2 month old granddaughter who he adores.John is a hard working man who worked as a loader driver for over 16 years for Forrest Loaders LTD, until he was medically unfit to continue to work.his wife Nellie is now caring for john at home.
John is a real family man, who has always been there for the children.Nellie and John are always together. He is a straight to the point kind of man who loves the outdoors.John is the type of person that would help anybody in need.
John was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2013, he lost his kidney but won the battle. The cancer returned in november 2016.It has since spread to his liver and lungs.John is a very sick man.His apperance has changed and his hair has turned white. The medication he is on makes him sick.He vomits daily and has no appetite. Some days he doesn't get out of bed.The whole family has been drastically affected by johns illness. All of the children are struggling to come to terms with the fact that they are going to lose their dad.
The family is trying to focus on living a quality life and celebrating their remaining time with john and not feeling pulled down by grief and depression.
Despite great support from family, friends and community they need extra support to do this.
We would love to see John be able to make memories with his family and for Nellie to be able to focus on supporting her children once John has left us.Having funds to clear debts and pay funeral expenses will mean that his family has one less thing to worry about. The pain and misery will stop for John but will continue for his family.
In addition to paying necessary costs it would be great to see the family being able to build special memories together. At the moment finances are so tight that going to the beach is not an option as the cost of petrol required is more than they can spare. We would love to see them getting away together for a family holiday and enjoy family time.
Johns daughter is getting married on his birthday in november.John is focusing on being around to walk her down the aisle. We would love to see the family have other good stuff to look forward to in the future.
Nellie and John are very proud and find it really hard to ask for help. They know the struggle is real for so many New Zealanders.
Please help us to help John and his family.
Funds raised will go towards helping John with debts funeral expenses and spending quality time with family
