Give a Little for Melo

Auckland

His laughter reverberates throughout the entire walls of the house. His love of the outdoors, basketball, Guns n Roses, Metallica, barbecue and karaoke nights-- extensively felt in all of our memories with him.

"Melo", as he is fondly called is many things to us. He is a father, a "kuya, a friend, a husband. But before being anyone else to others, he was (and continues to be) the man who fought hard and dreamt big for family.

However, life has a funny way of turning out. A couple of weeks ago, he was diagnosed with migraine. His condition showed to deteriorate and last night, he had to be revived at home. Currently, Melo is admitted at a High Dependency Unit. A massive stroke had hit him that evening and everything now just seems to be hanging on a balance-- future plans and hopes. With reality needing to be faced, treatment and rehabilitation plans are yet to come form.

His wife and young daughter and all those who share Melo's life with him, now sit at his bedside hoping against hope for the day that will bring back the husband, the father and the friend who continues to love with the most genuine heart.

This fund raising is not just for those who know Melo but for the stroke survivors out there who represent strength and hope.

Let us all help the Mepieza family in seeing it through these hard times. No cause too great, no donation too small.

I'm spearheading this because like all migrants, we once struggled to get by. During those struggling times, Kuya Melo and his family was considerate enough and gave us a roof on top of our heads, gave us somewhere to go-- and that somewhere was home.

This is a little act of kindness in exchange for the million acts he has brought on to everyone. I'm quite certain he has done something for you too. :)

Use of funds

Rehabilitation for Melo's condition may entail weeks or even months consisting of numerous visits to therapists.

The funds raised will be dedicated to his rehabilitation costs and the ongoing needs of his family, in particular, their day to day living expenses until hopefully, recovery is fully achieved.
