Jess is 34 weeks pregnant with her 3rd baby who has been diagnosed with a serious heart defect, called Transposition of the Great Arteries and also a large septal defect (VSD). This means that the baby will need open heart surgery initially and then on going invasive medical intervention. Because the heart defect is complicated the cardiac surgeons based at Starship hospital in Auckland cannot plan treatment prior to Jess giving birth.
Jess and James will need to be away from their home in Christchurch. This means uplifting the whole family for a unknown period of time (at least 8 weeks). Because of the uncertanity of how successful this first treatment will be the Anthony family may have a number of trips up to Auckland as their is no specialised cardiac surgeons based in Christchurch.
By donating to the Anthony family you are allowing them to stay together so they are able to support each other and the new baby in this very challenging time.
My husband and I are very good friends with Jess and Jimmy, and have been for a very long time, we have had our children grow up together. We would do anything to help support them through this difficult time.
For travel assistance particulary the 2 boys who are not funded for travel and also accommodation and travel for main support people for Jess and James. Living costs as James will need extended time off work and he is the sole income earner.
