Seido Karate Upper Hutt is a not for profit Karate Club and we are fundraising to fit out our new premises.
Wellington
Seido Karate Upper Hutt is a not for profit Karate Club that has been operating in the Upper Hutt community for over eleven years now and has over 110 students currently training.
Our membership includes children from five years of age up to adults in to there 60’s. Many of these are families training together, both parents and children alike and this is very rare.
It differs from other marital arts as it isn’t just about karate and has two main goals:
1. To maximize each student’s physical skills
2. To cultivate individuals of the highest moral character who can make significant contributions to their family life, the workplace, and to society at large.
Seido seeks to develop in each student a 'non-quitting' spirit. No matter what the obstacle or difficulty -- emotional, physical, and financial -- we want students to feel empowered to overcome any challenge.
Every student of any age that has ever belonged to our club has prospered in one way or another. Whether it’s children, adults, men, women or those with learning disabilities. Anyone can reach his or her full potential.
Because of our principles and community focus the cub is forever growing and we have outgrown our current space.
With any lease the fit out costs are large and as we operate as a not for profit organisation and maintain low membership fees to ensure its affordable and accessible to the whole community we do not have excess capital.
To fit out a premises with just the basics we expect to incur expenses of around $10,000, which we aim to fundraise over the next three months with a lot of hard work and commitment by all. A large part of that expense is providing adequate flooring for safety.
These new premises will allow us not only to continue to grow the Club within the Upper Hutt Community but continue to contribute to the community by cultivating individuals of the highest moral character.
I'm involved because I am the Head Instructor and want to build a better place for our students and future students of all ages and gender so they can grow and prosper as individuals of the highest moral character.
Funds will be used to fit out our new Dojo including the purchase of safety mats.
These new premises will allow us not only to continue to grow the Club within the Upper Hutt Community but continue to contribute to the community by cultivating individuals of the highest moral character.
All contributors to our fundraising cause will be recognised on a special donations board in our new premises to show our appreciation now and for many years to come.
