Help Victoria and Ronnie with the ongoing medical costs, parking, petrol and surgeon appointments for little Charlie
Wellington
My sister Victoria and her husband Ronnie are two of the most loving, kind hearted people I know. They would never ask anyone to lift a finger, and they have both always been there for friends and family - if you know these two you would agree - and I'm not just being biased because I'm her sister!
With no known medical reason, their beautiful son Charlie was born with a giant omphelocele which is an abdominal wall defect (basically this means his small bowel and liver are sitting outside his tummy) - which will be operated and repaired around 18 months old. Not only is this a significant medical difficulty, he has also been very ill with an unrelated issue relating to renal failure requiring readmission to hospital with an unknown diagnosis. He has recently come off life support for five days, and it's been a roller coaster ever since.
On top of all of this, a couple of days after Charlie was born and very sick, Ronnie was hit by a truck in a car accident. The car was written off and it was extremely lucky that our mother wasn't in the car as previously planned that morning. The truck company have owned up and apologised, however are yet to front up with any costs to cover the rental car they require.
Victoria and Ronnie are people that are always there for their friends and family through the hard times - and we are here for them through this.
The use of the funds will be for the ongoing medical costs relating to admissions/discharges to hospital, specialist surgeon appointments, hospital parking, petrol and specialist dressings and equipment.
The ongoing cost of the rental car until a replacement is organised.
The cost of Ronnie having to take extra leave off work.
The cost of extra day care for their other beautiful son Daniel.
The cost of not having Victoria's immediate family in Melbourne.
