Teenager seriously injured after coming off his bike

  • The big move

      8 May 2017

Today Haz and family moved into a children's rehab center, it wasn't an easy move but they are now safe and settled. Tarnz and Charlie will be staying with Haz to support his recovery.

On Saturday we are hosting "walk for a good cause" if you would like to join us we will be at Sanders Reserve in Albany, feel free to bring your pets and help us raise support for Harrisons recovery.

  • Send Haz & family your love and thoughts

      5 May 2017

Haz is doing well in his progress to re-learn the basics, such as walking and talking. His memory is getting better but at this stage the effects of his brain injury are quite severe. Please keep him in your thoughts, and send him and his family lots of love.

  • "Another day of little miracles"

      30 April 2017

Tarnz has described today as another day of little miracles. Haz is improving everyday.

He is now breathing on his own, completely off any breathing support.

He has to re-learn how to do everything that often we take for granted everyday. He has to re-learn how to walk, how to talk (different words etc) and is currently still unable to eat. He has been having issues with recalling the identity of people, but today is starting to remember people quicker.

He has been for little rides on his wheelchair around the ward, and is slowly rediscovering himself, and his world again.

So although we are all so incredibly thankful that he is now on the road to recovery, there is still an incredibly tough journey ahead. But Haz is really strong willed and has the support of a great family to get him through.

A note from Tarnz (Harrisons mum) and Charlotte (Harrisons sister):

Charlotte and I want to say an enormous thank you to everyone for all the words of support and generous offerings. We are astounded and heartened by people's kindness and generosity.

  • Uphill from here

      27 April 2017

Haz is improving on a daily basis, he has started to move his arms and legs and is able to start the process weaning off medical support to be able to breathe on his own. Harrison has a few surgeries ahead of him for his mouth, as when he fell his face and head took the impact. His family are so thankful and relieved that he has started on the journey to recovery. However, it's going to be a long journey, and Haz is going to need his families support. His family have barely left his side, and plan to continue to stay close to him at the Hospital for the foreseeable future so thank you for your well wishes and donations to help this awesome young man on his road to recovery.

  • Today was a good day, but still a long way to go

      24 April 2017

Haz is official in a "Minimally Conscious state" (MCS) and was even responsive at times. It is still unknown what damage to his brain will be lasting, we will be finding this out over the year. The neurologist said that this will be a long road to recovery. Haz's facial injuries are healing well, but were pretty extensive and horrific. Thank you once again for all of your support, it will be so helpful on Harrisons road to recovery. You could help us by sharing this with your friends and family.

  • Harrisons progress

      22 April 2017

Harrison is still in a coma, but has been making improvements. He has been able to squeeze his mums hand, nodding to simple questions and has opened his eyes a few times. He has suffered a significant head injury and severe facial injuries. He has a long road to recovery, but he has the love of many, many people and an amazing family to support him. All of your support will be a tremendous help.
