Help the people of the Rakiraki district and the northern coast of Viti Levu, which was so badly devastated by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Bula,
As you would have heard and seen on the news, Tropical Cyclone Winston has done severe damage to the Fijian Islands. Being a third world country, a lot of locals have gone from having very little, to having nothing at all, literally overnight. Homes and crops destroyed, villages and schools totally wiped out.
One of the worst affected districts, is the Rakiraki district. Reports from the villages near Rakiraki town are of utter devastation. Nearly no houses have survived, hundreds are now homeless and without readily available food and clean drinking water.

I have made this page to raise funds for the people in the Rakiraki area who are in a desperate time of need.
With my parents over in the Rakiraki area right now, I saw this as an opportunity to get direct aid and some financial relief to these villages and people via them.
Every single cent raised in this campaign will be given directly to those Fijian locals who need it the most. We are still working out the finer details on how to distribute the money most effectively, but you can rest assured it will arrive where it is needed.
Those who have visited Fiji will know what a beautiful and wonderful country it is, the people are some of the friendliest, caring, unassuming and appreciative on the planet.
It's times like this when we must remember how fortunate we are to live in a first world country. Nearly all of us have some spare money for a cause like this. These people deserve our generosity on one of their darkest days, and every little bit counts.
This page will be open for 7 days only so please tell your friends, share on Facebook and most of all... GIVE GENEROUSLY!

My family has strong ties to Fiji, our Grandfather's home was close to destroyed on Nananu-i-Ra in the cyclone. With Mum and Dad being over there to start repairs, I saw it as a good chance to pitch in and raise some money (NOT for our repairs, but for the Fijian locals who have lost everything.)
UPDATE 1/2/16 1 March 2016
After having a few conversations with friends and family in Fiji, we have found a really great team to help get our $$$ to RakiRaki and any other areas that are in desperate need.
My awesome cousin Becky is in Fiji right now with the Rotaract Club of Nadi New Horizons, who are one of the amazing crews working hard distributing aid, food packs and emergency response kits to the most cutoff areas of the Western Division of Fiji.
The description we keep hearing of people's houses, is that it looks like they have 'exploded from the inside'. While at least 30,000 have been forced into evacuation centres in the Western Division, some people have had no choice but to stay in their near-to-destroyed homes.
Our money will go towards shelter boxes, emergency response kits (pictured), and food packs for these people...
