House Fire - Restoring the Alexander's Kitchen

This is for friends and family and local community of Gilly, Ross, Cameron and Kyra Alexander of Okoroire who lost their family home and belongings in a house fire on Monday. If you are reading this you will know Ross and Gilly and many of you will have enjoyed Ross and Gilly's hospitality at some stage - they are legendary hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Before the fire their family home at Okoroire had a well-stocked kitchen full of treasured items gifted and collected throughout the years - in fact it was a standing joke how many platters Gilly got for wedding presents! These and pretty much everything else is gone now in the fire, in fact their kitchen looks a little like a student flat (only much cleaner). They need most things you can imagine for a kitchen, potato peelers, knives, pots and pans, recipe books, all the basics and more. They are understandably devastated and we are all shocked and in disbelief, wondering what can we possibly do to help them at this sad time.

So the idea behind this givealittle fund is that all of us who want to help, gifts a little bit of money towards replacing things they need in their kitchen while they wait for insurance matters to be sorted, luckily they do have insurance - this is simply a gift for those of who care about Gilly and Ross to let them know we want to help and we are there for them.

Ross and Gilly are being strong and just getting on with things, but have said they will really appreciate any donations we make. They are also are keen for everyone who donates to come to a housewarming party when the new house is built or at least come to visit them so they can show their thanks. Big thanks to everyone who chooses to give and to all those who are helping them out in other ways, they are very grateful. Any and all donations will be appreciated no matter the size.
