Save Savusavu Bay

$450 of $2,600 goal
Given by 7 generous donors in around 6 months

EIA will support the locals to take full ownership of any development in the bay that affects their livelihoods.

International

We cannot have mangroves destroyed and our sea bed dredged to benefit few. We are advocating that this environmental damage is reviewed. The grassroots people need copies of the Environmental Impact Assessments and supporting document to understand the damages and how it can be better mitigated in the future. The costs associated to acquire these documents from the Department of Environment in Fiji is NZ$2600. This is a direct cost that locals at village level cannot afford.

The mangrove destruction in this bay will affect thousands. Grassroots people need a copy of the Environmental Impact Assessments.

Use of funds

Any surplus gained from this fund will be made available to the Save Savusavu Bay group so they are able to hold their own community meetings.
