Jacob, a student visa holder, now bravely battling cancer while his family faces emotional and financial hardship far from home and support.
Auckland
Our dear friend Jacob Mojica is a loving husband and a father of two to a 9 year old daughter and 5 year old son. They moved to New Zealand in February 2026 in the hopes of building a new better life for the family. He is currently on a student visa doing his Masters in Social Practice for 1.5 years.
But life took an unexpected turn when he was hospitalized on the 25th May 2026. Several scans were made and the doctors found out that he has a big mass in his colon and nodes all over his lungs. The doctor suspects cancer. He is currently admitted in North Shore hospital.
Instead of focusing on his studies and dreams, the family will now be facing different treatments, emotional stress, and overwhelming financial pressure far from home and family support. We are coming together to help ease the burden so Jacob can focus on what matters most — healing and recovery.
We are knocking on the door of your generous hearts if we could ask help for the hospital bills and incoming procedures the doctors are planning to make him live.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help with medical costs, daily living expenses, and support during this incredibly challenging journey. Please stand with Jacob and his family, share his story, and help bring hope, strength, and relief when he needs it most.
Thank you so much and God bless everyone.
I am a very good friend of Jacob and Teresa since 2009 all the way back home from the Philippines.
All funds raised will go towards the cost of Jacob’s treatments, to ease some financial load.
Update with Jacob 6 June 2026
Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported Jacob and his family during this difficult time. He remains in the hospital under close monitoring while we await the results of his biopsy.
The pathologists have encountered challenges in identifying the exact type of cancer, as Jacob appears to have a very rare and rapidly progressing condition.
His most recent scan also revealed swelling in his brain, and he is currently receiving steroids to help reduce the inflammation. They took another sample to test from his colonoscopy and praying that it will give us all more definite answers to start the appropriate treatment plans.
We will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information about his condition. Thank you again for your generosity, prayers, and support. God bless.
